Hardcore Rules - Adjusted

Postby sorifiend » Tue Apr 30, 2013 9:45 pm

At the time of writing 83% of votes are to allow full grief on the Hardcore server.
To reflect this I have updated the rules as follows:

Updated Rules:
    • PVP, looting and griefing is allowed.
    • No spawn camping at the server spawn or outposts (Waiting to kill players).
    • Do not ask Staff for anything

All Hardcore server rules:
    • Be nice; swearing, racism, bigotry, personal threats, or other forms of hate speech are strictly prohibited.
    • Do not argue with other players/staff in chat. If you have a problem then send a private message.
    • Chat is to be kept to a PG rating at all times.
    • Do not advertise in game or on the website.
    • Game exploitation modification and alteration is strictly prohibited without prior approval.
    • Spam is prohibited
    • PVP, looting and griefing is allowed.
    • No spawn camping.
    • Do not ask Staff for anything

Original Post:
This poll is ONLY for regular Hardcore players, please vote above, and also post a reply with your vote as well, so we can see if you are a hardcore player or not.

[Announcement]
As most Hardcore players will know already, NBW was attacked today, and a fair amount of damage done.

Since this was the Hardcore server, Unfortunately I will not be restoring it.
However I will make a copy of NWB on the main server using a backup at 1am this morning, this way everyone can see and admire the awesome town (And a few of the original players can be given access to the chests/books etc).

For those in the NBW community, you are a very resilient lot and I never imagined the awesome achievement you would make of NWB, however it is sadly time to move forward and create something new.

Because of this event we want to clear up a few things on Hardcore, so I have started a vote for your input.

Should the grief rules on the Hardcore server be:
1) Full grief and looting allowed.
2) Only reasonable grief and looting allowed. (Only take what you need, don't burn/TnT/Lava an entire base)

Edit: Option 2 still allows full chest looting.

Could another option be Full looting and reasonable grief (don't burn/TnT/Lava an ENTIRE base)?

Agreed.
Or something in the middle. We put a lot of hard work in to creating bases..I don't mind looting, but getting owned by tnt/lava/WITHER attacks hurts a bit..

But if there is no 'middle-ground' then I guess full griefing is ok.

Good question, this fits into Option 2, since you will always loot what you want/need.
The only real limit is for excessive griefing.

I vote for full greifing, because its call hardcore for a reason, doesn't seem very hardcore if you can't fully greif imo. And if its a huge mega greif i think the person has to verify a legit way they got the cords.

Even if it goes to Full grief allowed, I think there should be a restriction on lava bombing someones spawn point....

Yeah that prevents people from playing the game... as some people donated to play it's well outside the rights of any other player to prevent anyone from playing so we take a consistent line on this.
