Minecraft Server Offline Till Monday - DDOS - [Fixed]

All our Minecraft servers will be unavailable till Monday afternoon.

We were hit by a minor DDOS attack for a couple of hours on Friday afternoon, it didn't have much effect but to be on the safe side the connection has been blocked.

Unfortunately this means that the minecraft authentication servers are also blocked till Monday, then we will pop back behind a commercial firewall, so we can resume gaming.

For those that don't know: DDOS is a form of slowing down or crashing a server by overloading it.

Edit: Event server is working, we may post alternate address for the Main and Hardcore servers tomorrow afternoon.

DDOS: Distributed denial of service
Basically, someone wants nobody to access a webpage, server etc in this case, and spams it with connection requests. This in turn, as sori says, slows down everything or brings it down (crashes it because it can't handle the load)

Yeah its all good, we put the servers came back up Sunday afternoon, Main didn't go up at the same time because a plugin broke during an update.

My lines were down yesterday, the Chorus guys were digging around near our cabinet, I logged a fault and am hoping their technician will have it fixed tonight so I can sort out teamspeak.
