In a way yes, but it's not the main reason.
We are putting another 40gb ram in the main server, and setting it to better handle VM's, as a result it will be a lot easier for lots of things including bungeechord.

Yes, but it may not help a great deal, some of the plugins on event are quite ram hungry.
