Minecraft 1.8 [Main & Hardcore Updated]

Just a note to anyone who wants to play on Minigames, the server allows for you to run a 1.8 client (you can login with 1.8) but the server is 1.7 so won't allow for 1.8 features like commands, blocks and mobs. But you can still play on the server on 1.8 for things like better frames. Also you can use voxel or worldedit so set the new stone blocks using the data values. But as stated before, the server is on 1.7 and does not allow for 1.8 features.

I hope to update Main and Hardcore this week.

Main on Sunday night (Tomorrow 2/11, unless config files break during the update).
Hardcore later in the week, I want to properly test the plugins before updating.

Thanks for the link, it's a very cool project and a possible option, but I am a little hesitant because it uses ProtocolLib and will cause issues with clients/players who are still on 1.7.10.

I put that wrong, the world will still be there, however things will break.

In single player the 1.8 worlds will not run correctly if you rollback to 1.7, you will loose your inventory, and lots of other items (containers/chests often get wiped), and of course none of the 1.8 items would work.

The same applies to mulitplayer, if we (the server) update to 1.8 then roll back to 1.7 for some reason, then everyone would loose a lot of stuff (Inventory, chests).

sori, the xp is broken on hc. I can't fix equipment atm, it uses the xp and then when you exit the window, it's still broken, if you log out and in again, u have ur xp back though...........

also, you know roughly when we will be able to use the 1.8 items?

But in all seriousness, we are aiming for a release date from as early as the beginning of November to as late as early December. In other words, 1.5 to 2.5 months after we first began our work. Given the sheer size of this update (largest in Minecraft history) and how long it has taken other modding teams to perform major updates in previous versions (and that is WITHOUT incorporating the legal issues we have faced or a full-time education), we feel that this is a very reasonable date.

Not good, our best option is to wait for 1.8, that shouldn't be too long according too the above info.
