Maybe a mixture with Sori's idea, everyone that wants to take part gets an orb, and in that orb they get to do a build on a video game or something like that?

I like those ideas, I think that will work better than just focusing on spawn/portal builds.

I will be away for the first week of the holidays, but will jump in during the second week to help out with the themed ones, and to also do my own orb.

This sounds like a great idea! Maybe you could add the world edit plugin so we can get everything done faster without too much work. I'd like to join in but I'm a very crappy builder and I don't think ill be much use.
